The forecast for Spring 2012 is BRIGHT/LOTS OF COLOUR! It has not been this colourful in quite some time!
Colourful denim is everywhere – cobalt blue, crimson red, orange orange to name a few of the favourite colours. Those colourful shades are also seen in colour blocked dresses, shoes and tops. Colour block geometric patterns are very prominent in dresses, tops, sweaters and accessories such as handbags and shoes. Step outside your comfort zone a bit with a bright neon pink top and pair it with a pair of orange denim jeans – finish off with a pair of cobalt blue heels. If that is a bit too bright for you then get that colour block look with Black & White, then add a bold colourful shoe or handbag.
Eye catching prints are all around, from Animal prints to Flower power floral and Ocean inspired watery blues. Animal prints continue to be strong, especially the snakeskin or reptile patterns. That jungle look with tribal prints and earth tones in dresses, shorts and tops, or get the look with metallic accessories and wooden touches. The Flower Power floral prints are the most noticeable this season. Get that garden party look and feel with small or large print patterns in ladylike dresses, smart skirt and jacket look or just a long flowing skirt. Dare to wear that head to toe floral pattern! If that is too much for you, then accessorize with a feminine floral scarf, clutch or wedge shoe. The Ocean-inspired watery colours are seen in wild flowing patterns of blues and pastels. Sequins here seem to give that watery look – add a little sequin to your daywear in tops, shoes and clutches. Sequins are not just for the evening.
